National park Kornati
Tisno
A
special
Dalmatian
place
of
stone
houses
and
ponds,
spacious
squares,
lush
Mediterranean
vegetation
with
a
long
waterfront
and
with
many
taverns
and
restaurants
as
well
as
beautiful
beaches
provides
everything
you
need
for
a
pleasant
stay.
The
mainland
is
connected
to
the
island
by
a
drawbridge
that
is
raised
twice
a
day
for
30
minutes
and
then
dozens
of
ships
of
all
sizes
pass
through
this
channel a few meters from you.
Here
on
the
shore
near
the
T.O.
"ANE"
rents
boats
to
anyone
who
likes
to
sail
and
explore
the
coast,
islands
and
islets
in
search
of
a
quiet,
secluded
bay,
diving
to
look
at
the
original
beautiful
seabed
or
just feel the charm of sailing.
-
include
a
group
of
141
islands,
islets
and
reefs.
The
centuries-old
efforts
of
generations
of
farmers,
cattle
breeders
and
fishermen
from
the
island
of
Murter
are
today
visible
only
in
the
regular
rasters
of
dry
stone
walls,
rare
pieces
of
fertile
land
and
modest
stone
dwellings.
Due
to
the
exceptional
landscape
beauties,
interesting
geomorphology,
great
indentation
of
the
coastline
and
especially
rich
biocenoses
of
the
marine
ecosystem,
in
1980
most
of
the
Kornati
waters
were
declared
a national park.
The
famous
Kornati
"crowns"
(cliffs
or
cliffs)
facing
the
open
sea,
which
characterize
most
of
the
outer
islands
in
the
Pučinski
archipelago,
are
a
special
feature
and
value
of
this
area.
The
processes
of
corrosion,
erosion
and
abrasion
have
additionally
decorated
this
huge
surface,
which
in
some
places
in
the
Kornati
falls
vertically
and
over
90
meters
into the sea depths ("crowns" of the islands of Piškera and Rašip).
